The Hotel Presidente is one of the city’s benchmarks of quality. It opened in 1971 during a period of rapid expansion in hotel development driven by the tourism boom of the 1960s. From the outset, it was conceived as a holiday hotel, offering all the services required for guests to fully enjoy their stay within the property.
When the time came for its renovation, the objective was to preserve the hotel’s identity as a point of reference, maintaining a classic hospitality service while introducing a contemporary, elegant, and timeless style, with subtle nods to 1970s aesthetics as a tribute to its origins.
Originally a three-star property, the hotel has been upgraded through the renovation to a 4★ Superior category. With more than 17,000 m², the Hotel Presidente comprises 325 guestrooms across eight floors, along with a lobby bar, swimming pool, main dining room, ballroom, and dedicated spaces for fitness, reading, and television.
The space is defined by sober natural materials and colors that convey an inherent sense of quality and comfort through a timeless style. Finishes with classic references—such as white marble, oak wood, and brass—are reinterpreted through next-generation materials, including Dekton and high-performance laminates.
One of the main constraints was the limited floor-to-ceiling height, which was offset through the preferential use of indirect and integrated lighting within the architectural elements, reducing the visual weight of the ceilings. In the elevator lobbies on each floor, large-scale numerals were installed as wayfinding signage, enhancing guest orientation while introducing a distinctive decorative element that singularizes this transitional space.
